GIS/Transportation/Planning Assistant
Job Description: Gateway Area Development District seeks a candidate for the position of GIS/Transportation/Planning Assistant. This position will assist the GIS/Planning Coordinator in working with local officials, water/wastewater utilities, and KYTC staff in planning and data collection initiatives. This position will assist with short and long range planning studies, GIS analysis, project analysis, project development, administrative activities, and county and regional project prioritization with regard to water, wastewater, and transportation planning.
This position will research, collect, and analyze data; create informational materials, presentations, and reports. Additional duties will include: creation of GIS maps; GPS field data collection; preparing and reviewing memorandums, documentation, letters, and technical reports; and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: The candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Planning, Public Administration, Business, Geography, or related field; excellent communication, organizational, teamwork, analytic, and computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of GIS and GPS principles; valid Kentucky Driver’s License
Preferred Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite and Trimble GPS equipment.
