Ashley Patterson is the GIS Technician for the City of Bowling Green. She recently finished at the University of Louisville (BS/GIS) and within weeks found herself unpacking in South-Central Kentucky to join her team at the City of Bowling Green. She has volunteered with the KY Karst Conservancy on the Big Bat Cave [LiDAR] project where she worked on data but had no desire to spelunk herself. Ashley also interned for Olmsted Parks Conservancy and she volunteered on the Band Map Project for Houndmouth.

In Bowling Green, the workload is never dull, and Ashley enjoys utilizing various forms of Geospatial technologies for the City of Bowling Green- the fastest growing city in Kentucky.
In her previous work as a commercial photographer she had a front row seat to the digital revolution. From inception, she learned to “Save early, save often”. She earned her nickname “Map Nerd” by being a corny enthusiast for all things Geospatial including her obsession with LiDAR, Photogrammetry and Cartography. It is that enthusiasm she plans to bring with her as KAMP Director elect.

Ashley has previously served as a board member for the Rotary Club International, S.C.O.R.E. the Service Corps of retired Entrepreneurs, and held volunteer positions with for 4H, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Her hobbies are gardening, catching an Art show at First Fridays, and Flying experimental aircraft with her two sons. She is married to her soul mate.

She has a dog named Pixel and a duck named Action Bronson.
