Hello, my name is Charles Altendorf and it is my honor to run for KAMP President. I have 9 years of GIS experience. I have been a KAMP member officially for about 5 years and am approaching the end of my 2 year term as a director. I presented 3 times in a row at KAMP conferences, as well as moderated at a KAMP conference, and have spearheaded efforts to organize both virtual and in-person networking socials. I have seen my role as a director to actively seek out consultation from the KAMP members every time I vote and ensure the necessary votes to keep moving the organization forward take place. This would not change under an Altendorf presidency.
Beyond my KAMP experience, I seek to bring my executive leadership to this role. I chair a local political affiliate, as well as co-chair a committee at work. I also
volunteered with my parents for over 11 years at a non-profit in Cincinnati. Currently, I spend a lot of my time reaching out to GIS Professionals who are finishing or have recently finished university. Many things drive my participation in KAMP, but bolstering the relationships with young professionals is a point of emphasis to me. An Altendorf presidency would be one where young and more experience learn a lot about GIS Professionalism from each other.
I humbly seek your vote in late September and welcome all inquiries into my vision for KAMP in the coming days.
Charles has a creative vision of the future that could make KAMP even better than it already is.
Charles is a great ambassador for the GIS community in Kentucky.
