PENNYRILE AREA DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT PRESENTATION

Jim Creighton ( Data Integrator) and Pat Lee (GIS Manager): Pennyrile Area Development District
The Pennyrile Area Development District (PADD) is leveraging ESRI’s software to their fullest potential. They are using ArcPublisher and ArcReader to disseminate there data and maps to their members. They build their projects thru ARCGIS then publish the maps and datasets to an ArcReader document. The data and maps are then stored on a CD or DVD and distributed as needed.

CITY OF PADUCAH PRESENTATION

Joe Primicias, GIS Coordinator: History of GIS for the City of Paducah
The City of Paducah has migrated from a paper environment to a more GIS friendly world.  Prior to participating in the McCracken and Paducah GIS (MAP~GIS) Consortium, Paducah used paper maps, plats and most everything was done by hand.  Upon the creation of its GIS, the city now embraces the digital world by utilizing ESRI”s ArcGIS 9.2 software and extensions to answer their Planning and Zoning, Engineering, and Inspection departments questions in a more efficient manner.  Paducah staff now can access all data layers needed on the enterprise wide ArcSDE server right from their computer and make more informed decisions in lieu of piecing together several hard-copy maps on top of each other.  Paducah currently has one foot pixel digital ortho-photography and 69 different layers of planimetric data.  The City has recently entered into a contract to re-fly the County and collect half-foot pixel aerials and update their planimetrics.  Paducah anticipates the use of an Internet Mapping Service (ArcIMS or ArcServer) to allow the public access to its many GIS data layers.
