Skills required:
- ArcGIS experience and a background in working with spatial data, including some programming
- Experience with relational databases, and creating reports and queries to extract and summarize data
- Having an environmental science or a biological science background is helpful.
- Experience with wide range of projects from maps to models
- Ability to provide support and training to our staff for GIS issues and develop custom GIS layers for use outside of the managed database environment.

This position will serve as a GIS Analyst, providing support to the KSNPC staff to track and monitor species and ecological communities and evaluate and plan land protection and environmental strategies. Assists with the creation, management, and analysis of GIS data, including some application programming, works with relational databases and writes Crystal Reports and SQL queries to extract and display data from Oracle. Provides support and create technical documentation for the Biotics5 Natural Heritage database, GIS and GPS. Helps maintain accurate data including quality control and correction of errors, and perform environmental assessments using available GIS data layers. Converts survey data, AutoCAD drawings & other sources of digital data to GIS. Geo-references and digitizes aerial imagery and hard copy map records to GIS. Create web content and functionality for data and map distribution via KSNPC website and to support online applications. Creates maps, models, and presentations for in-house projects and in cooperation with other agencies. Manages files and records, including images and scientific data.
