Conference Call

A conference call between the board members was made at 10:30 a.m. February 23, 2005

Kyle Bearden, Trisha Brush, Kyle Snyder, Christy Davis, Earl Smith and Patti Royster participated.

Trisha stated that the salary survey information was coming in and she is planning to have it compiled by the GIS Conference August 22-25, 2005.

The main discussion regarded setting meetings and agend’s for the coming year. The first to be held in Frankfort at the end of March, either May or June for the second possibly in Louisville or Pikeville, August at the GIS conference and possibly October in at Bardstown in conjunction with the KAPS meeting.

It was decided that Kyle Snyder would contact Berry Hill Mansion to reserve a room if possible. The time being set from 10-1, with the guest speaker or round table discussion first on the agenda, followed by the committees breaking out for discussion, then the business part of the meeting with the Chairs reporting on the progress. Snacks will be served. Earl and Trisha are going to attempt to get a surveyors round table program together, if not it was suggested Susan Lambert be contacted to either present or make suggestion for a speaker.

Kyle Bearden was going contact the gentleman from Pikeville who offered to host a meeting at the end of the year. He was also going to contact Darrell Hamrick of James W Sewell Co. who offered to host a meeting. Mr. Gephart with KAPS about the October meeting.

Discussion was had regarding possible repeat of roundtables at the conference. Possible courses GIS 101 and Surveying 101 with fee to non member attendees. Seminar or workshop on fee schedule and open records.

How to reach k-12 and higher education audience. Can we take up the slack for GIAC? Photogrametry needs a support group, can we fill that need. How to maintain the rapport we have with KAPS.
