The City of Bardstown is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of GIS/Engineering Technician. This is a full time position that requires obtaining, processing, and managing data to produce and upkeep accurate maps for service reliability and efficient workflow of multiple utility departments and governmental agencies. Other duties include assist City Engineer in administering the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Phase II program. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by an Associate Degree in geography, engineering, or related mapping field and five years of related work experience, with minimum of two (2) years experience in ESRI ArcGIS products; or a Bachelor’s Degree in similar field with a minimum of one (1) year experience in ESRI ArcGIS products. Use of GPS equipment, AutoCad or Carlson Software, databases, and knowledge of basic drafting principles is required. Good oral and written communication skills needed.
