KYTC Trans-GIS Conference
“Transportation GIS in Kentucky: Driving Innovation”
CALL for PAPERS SUBMISSIONS and/or ABSTRACTS

EXTENDED DEADLINE: March 6, 2012

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet invites you to submit a presentation proposal or register for the 2012 KYTC Trans-GIS Conference held in Frankfort, Kentucky at the Transportation Cabinet Office Building (TCOB 200 Mero St., Frankfort, KY 40601) on Thursday March 29, 2012.  This FREE conference provides a unique collaborative environment for sharing and learning about the uses of transportation-focused GIS in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  It is open to everyone, but seating will be limited.  Registration Opens at 8:15 a.m. and the Conference begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.

We are currently seeking individuals who would like to present at the conference.

This year’s theme is “Transportation GIS in Kentucky: Driving Innovation.  Topic areas include but are not limited to:

  • Aviation
  • Design/Modeling
  • Environmental Management
  • LIDAR/Aerial Photography Applications
  • Maintenance Solutions
  • Multimodal
  • Traffic
  • Transportation Planning
  • Visualization

If you have an interesting project you want to share, please submit your idea at the Call for Papers.  Please keep in mind this is not a venue for marketing goods and services. This is a free conference for sharing ideas and methods between the public, academic, non-profit and private sectors to promote a safe, efficient and vital transportation system in the Commonwealth.

Deadlines:

  • March 6, 2012: Papers submissions and/or abstracts are due.
  • March 9, 2012: Notification of acceptance for presentation at the conference by the KYTC Office of Information Technology, GIS Support Services Branch  (OIT-GIS)
  • Registration is open and continuous until we reach maximum seating capacity.
  • Lunch will not be provided.  There are many local eateries that can meet your needs.
