The first quarterly membership meeting of 2012 will be held on February 15th at Eastern Kentucky University. The meeting will begin at 10:00 am and conclude at 2:00 pm. A KAMP Board Meeting will be held promptly after. The speakers for this KAMP meeting include;
Paul Schrader. Mr. Schrader is a well-regarded surveyor in the region, having trained many mapping professionals working in Central Kentucky today. He currently serves as the GIS Coordinator for City of Berea, where, among other things, he uses GIS, CAD and GPS for accident and crime scene reconstruction for the Berea Police Department. He will be speaking about his experiences with this interesting use for mapping technology.
Professor James Pharr. After a distinguished career as a fire fighter, fire chief, and Emergency Management director, Mr. Pharr joined the faculty of EKU College of Justice & Safety. He will be speaking about GIS from a public safety and fire science perspective.
Dr. Drew Andrews, Jr. Dr. Andrews is the Head of the Geologic Section of the Kentucky Geologic Survey. KGS has recently published the entire 30 by 60 minute series of geologic quadrangle maps for Kentucky, and made them available for free on the web. No other state offers this amount of geologic detail to the public on the web. Mapping professionals across the state will want to hear Dr. Andrews speak about this new resource.
Other Speaker, TBD.
The KAMP Meeting will be held in the Perkins Building on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY.
