2013 Kentucky GIS Conference
October 1st & 2nd, 2013
Galt House Downtown Louisville, Kentucky
You are invited to submit proposals for presentations at the 2013 Kentucky GIS Conference. As part of the exciting program that is coming together we are pleased to have two full days of breakout presentation sessions on Tuesday, October 1st and Wednesday October 2nd 2013. This is a great opportunity for our GIS and Mapping community to showcase our work, educate others and share professional experiences.
Presentations should be limited to 30 minutes in length, including 5-10 minutes at the end for audience questions. There will be up to three presentations in each session block. Every effort will be made to group session presentations on a common topic or theme.
Proposals by vendors and consultants are welcome. Vendors and consultants are often the most qualified on subjects of interest. We do ask you to keep the commercial content to a minimum. This is not the time to pitch products but to enlighten and educate.
Each breakout session room will be equipped with a screen, computer projector and a microphone system. Each presenter should make arrangements for their own laptop computer for the presentation. If you require any other assistance, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your request within reason.
Selection Criteria
The program committee will evaluate presentation proposals and fill the allotted time slots with the most appropriate presentations based on:
- Technical content is preferred
- Interest to a significant number of expected conference attendees
- Originality
- Quality of Preparation
All presentations will be conducted on a voluntary basis. The Kentucky GIS Conference is unable to cover any expenses presenters may incur, such as travel, lodging or conference fees.
All speakers will receive GISP points toward their certification, in addition to points for attending the conference itself.
Please limit abstracts to 100 words and bios to 50 words
The deadline for submissions is end of business August 3rd, 2013.
If you have any questions contact Kyle Snyder.
Thank you for submitting a Proposal.
