Marriot’s Griffin Gate Resort

In 2008, Bluegrass Tomorrow undertook this innovation initiative in response to input and discussion at two Government Summits, attended by over 100 central Kentucky elected officials in 2007, a strategy of the Bluegrass Tomorrow’s Regional Economic Analysis project last year.

The first phase of the study was a comparative analysis of 22 similar cities/regions with a “Flagship University” at their core. This phase was data point driven, creating baseline indicators of how these communities compared with the Central Bluegrass Region in terms of demographics population, income, job growth, health care, education, environment, transportation indicators and more.

The second phase of “InnoVision 2018″ focuses on a smaller group of innovative communities that were examined more closely because of their innovative models and programs, selected by our broad based Regional Innovation Review Committee.

These areas of innovation include: land use & design, quality of life improvements, transportation initiatives, green energy/environment, arts/cultural improvements, downtown initiatives, and Millennial/Echo Boomer strategies, and so much more. These innovations will be shared and discussed.<
