Bluegrass Community and Technical College is pleased to host GIS Day 2007 (www.gisday.com) at its Cooper Campus from 10:00AM until 2:00PM in the lobby of the Oswald Building on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. The KAMP community and prospective employers are encouraged to attend our kiosk, visit our map gallery and meet with our seven students who will be receiving their GIS Certificate in December.
This will be a small event compared to the GIS Day 2006 event held at the UK Armory last year. There will be no vendors present. The purpose of this event is to advertise our program in-house amongst our existing student population but also to give our graduating (and job-seeking) students the opportunity to meet with area mapping professionals.
You are encouraged to browse the work of our students at http://district.bluegrass.kctcs.edu/ryan.kelly/gis_day_2007.htm. Many of the JPEG insert maps of their work are quite large; please be patient as the images load in your browser.
Should you elect to attend, please keep in mind that the Cooper Campus and Commonwealth Stadium Parking Lot is patrolled by the University of Kentucky Parking Office. If you do not have a valid UK Parking permit, you will need to park in one of the metered spaces or in the new parking garage located next to the Hilary Boone Tennis Complex across from the BCTC Campus on the opposite side of Cooper Drive. BCTC and the organizers of GIS Day 2007 will not reimburse you for parking fees and/or any parking ticket you may receive while in attendance at GIS Day.
